Gigs

TomHarrison4tet

All evening gigs unless stated otherwise – if you need more info, drop me a line, or Google the venue. (Often I don’t know the exact timings until nearer the date in question.) All these gigs are public performance events that you don’t need an invite for; no private function events appear on this list. If it’s happening in a restaurant, it’ll say so, and if I know the admission price I’ll post it – but I don’t always. Again, check with venues to be sure.

An exciting preview of what’s to come when the Machine whirs into action on its Autumn UK Tour, details of which can be found lower down. Places are limited for this; first come, first served. All the acts involved in this event, including PMM, will play a single 30 minute set.

Wednesday 2nd August – RICHARD ILES/JAMIE TAYLOR QUARTET, Jazz at The Lescar, Sheffield S11 8ZF, 8.45pm

Richard Iles (trumpet), Jamie Taylor (guitar), Garry Jackson (bass), Eryl Roberts (drums)

So excited to have this opportunity to play with one of the country’s finest trumpet players, my LCoM colleague Richard Iles, and an absolutely superb rhythm section as well. The venue’s not bad either. Don’t miss!

Wednesday 20th December – ALAN BARNES, SAM DUNN, JAMIE TAYLOR TRIO – Jazz at The Lescar, Sheffield S11 8ZF, 8.45pm

Alan Barnes (sax and clarinet), Sam Dunn, Jamie Taylor (guitars)

Alan, Sam, and myself played together last summer and had such a nice time, we thought we’d do it again. Old school swing from the days when distortion from a guitar amplifier warranted a sternly-worded letter to its manufacturer. The venue is the North’s finest jazz club, once again!

Wednesday 21st March 2018 – JAMIE TAYLOR + TBA with house band, Head of Steam, Huddersfield, 8.30pm

Not sure of the full line-up for this but there will be another guest featured, along with the fantastic house band led by Paul Smith.
